This scheme at 113 Burgess Avenue was a block of 5 luxury 2-bedroom flats. The brief was to design a scheme that worked well in the street scene while respecting the domestic character of the area.
The approved proposal represents the full and effective use of the site in a way that achieves a high quality development, which is entirely appropriate. Particular care had to be taken to ensure that the development fit comfortably with its surroundings with minimum impact on the character of the area. The design and layout proposed takes into account the need to preserve the amenities of the occupants of surrounding residential properties both in terms of the visual effect of the development and in respect of matters of preservation of privacy and maintenance of natural light.
